What we believe
We are a semi retired couple who have a love for woodworking, we largely make things for our own enjoyment and will place items on this website for sale. We do not mass produce and every item is individually crafted. When we are not woodworking we are often off-grid camping, fossicking, detecting for coins and relics and enjoying nature.
Respect is at the heart of everything we create, our respect for nature and the trees from which our items are crafted.
The beauty of a mature tree is far too often not noticed. The unfortunate reality is that there are times when mature trees need to be removed, be it from reaching the end of their natural life, storm damage, being a risk to property or potential injury. It is what our society so often does with these trees after they are felled that is sad. Beautiful, majestic trees turned into woodchips is heart breaking to see.
By creating something beautiful, that hopefully people will appreciate, is our way of respecting the trees that provided the wood we use. The majority of wood we use has a story that we love to share.
We do use epoxy resin in a lot of our creations, some may question the use of epoxy resins. When a tree is felled it starts losing moisture content, this uneven drying causes the wood to crack. Resin fills the cracks and voids which allows us to use the wood, and adds an element of further beauty.
